There has been a lot of speculation about the sexual
preferences of Brandon Routh. Brandon
is not gay. In fact, he has
had several girlfriends since his arrival in Hollywood 6 years ago.
Brandon was dating up and coming actress Rachel Boston but the two are no
longer together. Brandon is currently dating actress Courtney Ford.
The two were seen together at the MTV movie awards on June 8.
Courtney has had guest parts on the television shows
“Profiler”, “Moesha” and “Just For Kicks” to name a few.
She is the stepsister of Roberto Orci and J.R. Orci; both are
television writers and producers, known for the television series
“Alias”.
Rumors of Brandon Routh being gay most likely stem from
the fact that the movie’s director, Bryan Singer, is openly gay.
People most likely assume that because Bryan is gay he will cast a
gay man in a role in the movie. That is just not true. In
fact, Bryan does not bring his sexual preferences into his work
situations. Bryan has made a
good name for himself as a director, working on films such as “The Usual
Suspects”, “X-Men” and its sequel, “X2”.
Brandon Routh is very much the boy-next-door type. He
was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and grew up not far from there in Norwalk,
Iowa. He has always liked soccer, swimming and basketball. He was on the swim team at Norwalk High School, where he
graduated in 1998. Brandon
attended the University of Iowa for a year, then left to pursue his acting
career. Brandon had to take
odd jobs to support himself in between acting jobs. He once worked as a
packer, packing items into boxes for shipping.
He then became a bartender, working at “Lucky Strike”.
