Many people feel that it is time again to introduce Superman to whole new generation of moviegoers. Since Superman’s first appearance in comics more than 70 years ago, generation have been able to get into the story, albeit, legend, of Superman. Many actors have played Superman over the years, but they all have portrayed the man of steel in a way people can relate to.

	Superman made his first appearance in 1938, in Action Comics. The story went on to radio, movies and television, making Superman a household name to generations. There has been a lot of buzz in Hollywood about Brandon Routh in the Superman role. In March, 2006, Brandon was presented with the “Male Star Of Tomorrow Award” at the 2006 ShoWest awards. Many people feel that the role of Superman will propel Brandon into instant stardom, at a level he has not known yet. He is thought to be the next up and coming male actor of his generation. Brandon is not afraid of being typecast in the future, a problem that has faced many of the former Superman actors. He feels there are plenty of acting opportunities out there and he has faith that his talent will show through no matter what the role. So far, Brandon has had several varying parts, however, none nearly as large as the role he took on in “Superman Returns”. He doesn’t mind being compared to those who played the part before, though. He feels he brings his own special magic to the role, a role he has prepared for since his youth. He remembers watching his first Superman movie, “Superman, The Movie”, dressed in his Superman pajamas. He seems to have a special reverence for Christopher Reeve. When asked which is easier to play, Superman or Clark Kent, Brandon easily answers Clark Kent. Brandon has always felt a little like Clark Kent, even dressing in a Clark Kent / Superman costume for a Halloween party several years ago, an interesting premonition of what was to be.
