Superman and Batman are both superheroes with long histories.  The two fictional characters have been around a long time, both starting out in the comics.  There are fans of one or the other and also fans who like both.  They are two separate and distinct tales.  Both characters fight evil and defend their city.

In 2002, there was talk of a movie with both Superman and Batman.  The movie was to be done by Warner Bros. but was put on hold indefinitely.  Some say they will wait to see how  “Superman Returns” does at the box office first.  The script is yet to be completed, however, it would take place when both Batman and Superman were young men.

The character of Superman and Batman, although both heroes, have very different personas.  Batman has a dark side to him and is very mysterious. Superman is somewhat of a ”goody-goody” in comparison. A movie with both would be interesting. Movie executives are hoping the new Superman movie will be a hit.  So far, it has received good reviews.  Because it has been 25 years since the last superman movie came out, the new movie, “Superman Returns” will target a whole new generation of viewers.  Superman is a highly recognizable icon the world over. Even young children who have not seen the last Superman movies know who Superman is.  Superman is still a favorite Halloween costume for young boys.

“Superman Returns” is also coming out as a major video game, to be available on all platforms, including XBOX 360, Nintendo and Playstation.  In the game, inspired by the new movie, the player gets to feel as though they are actually Superman.  You can explore your super powers and can combine them to form new uses.  You will be able to use Heat Vision to melt things or cut through metal, use Super Breath to move heavy objects or to freeze villains, and use Super Strength to hurl items at the enemy. The new game is due to be released in conjunction with the release of “Superman Returns”.
